Vintage Makenge Baskets are handwoven from the root of the African Makange bush in a remote village in the western province of Zambia. Traditionally used for storing and winnowing grain, when holes appear they are repaired with patches of reed adding contrasting detail. Natural patina and imperfections are a part of the baskets history and beauty.
